So testing is probley the worst thing man kind has ever created. Its not the fact that OGT's are hard its the fact that they are so pointless, they are very easy and require common sense. Also they require me to sit there quietly for an hour or so because I finished the 2 hour test in half the time. It is just wrong, even when we finish the test we can not do anything at all, besides just sit there and stare at the wall.
Testing should ultimatley be eliminated from education period. Well atleast I think this and I know several people out there who most definatley agree with me. I know the tests are really for the educators to make sure we have learned what we have needed to learn, but i believe that some of these state mandated tests can be a little excessive, especially with all the procedures that they have.
I mean it is just very frustrating and the teachers have to repeat all of the rules again over, each and every day. I know its supposed to be helpful, but come on, these rules are basically the same as every other test we take during the school year. I mean just because the test is given by the state does not mean that we would try to break the rules of this test for multiple reasons.
One because if we cheat we would probley get caught and just have to retake the test. Second the test is a no brainer and can be completed with common sense. I just think these extra rules just ad on to the stress that high school students already face and actually can make some students perform poorly on the test. The added stress can not be good for the test results for each student. The student has to be able to handle their own stress they have already and now they have to handle the stress of the tests as well. This can not be a good combination.
This brings an end to my rant about OGT week, but I can not wait to find the next subject for my blog.
