This was a crazy video clip we watched. It was so real and full of raw emotion. After I watched this I had many emotions and I didn't know what to think or what I should even write about. This little video clip exposed so many issues. The biggest issue in this was the man was suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome. He talked about how after the battle in Falouja he was getting ready to commit suicide and how one of the medics who was making his rounds had saw him and convinced him to not do this. He then talked about how when he got back into the states he did not feel the same. He even talked about how he felt like taking his bike on a ride and either running it into the side of a mountain or off the top of the mountain. He said before the war he thought he was in love with his girlfriend and going to marry her, but after he had married her he eventually got a divorce with her because of he just felt that he wanted to be shut off from the world and everybody in it.
This was crazy I felt depressed that a man who served and fought for freedom was going through this as a result of it. He was a broken man and throughout this whole video clip you could just hear and see the pain that this man had. He just tore my heart out when he was talking about his life now and what he did in the war and what happened to him as a result of this. The one thing that truly angered me about his clip was that the stupid senator could not spare this man five minutes of his life though. The man traveled hundreds of miles for five minutes of the senators time but he wouldn't even talk to him. This man lost his whole life because of what he saw and did for the protection of the United States of America.
This movie showed me the reality of war. I believe that this video should of been showed on national television so everybody out there can see what is lost in soldiers who go through war and how it affects them. I know deep down that if more people see this than there would of been some sort of effort to help these veterans. This movie was reall and wasn't something created in a hollywood theatre and more people should watch it and learn the reality of war and post tramatic stress syndrome.
